The New Hull School of Art was a student run protest event in response to the modularization of the Fine Art course. This action had the support of the faculty staff, who, for this period of time, conducted some of their teaching at the gallery. This reinforced the already strong link the gallery has with the School of Art. The event also increased the awareness and appreciation of the gallery with the undergraduate students. Following this event is continuing to become a place where people gather to discuss their practice and contemporary art issues.
