Distillation was a very successful two-week invigilators show. Emma and Sarah worked collaboratively to produce painting instillation that was heavily influenced by various architectural features within the gallery and its three-room layout. The gallery was occupied not only by their paintings but also by a variety of objects reminiscent of a chemistry laboratory, for example, tubes, funnels, jars, powders and liquids. As well an exploration into the notions of paint and painting there was a strong feeling of alchemy within the show.
