The paintings and installations of Andy Fung are equally indebted to SF illustrations, Graffiti and neo-psychedelic pop culture. The minuteness, sense for planning and orientation within two-dimensional painting space enable the artist to precisely show an infinitesimal world that dartingly develops from two dimensions into a complex illusion of symbolic multidimensional space.
Like Graffiti Art, the work embraces site specificity and resists commodification. Self-similar but never identical the work refers to the limitless possibilities of nature. It is a realm of expanded state of consciousness.
